Our Story
A Campground With History
For decades, this peaceful property in Windsor, Virginia has been a place where families, friends, and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
The campground began its history as American Sportsman Family Campground before becoming known as Blackwater Campground, then Big Bear Campground, and eventually Isle of Wight Family Campground.
While the name has changed over the years, the heart of the property has remained the same: a place to camp, relax, gather, and make memories.
Today, Isle of Wight Family Campground continues that tradition with 80+ full-hookup RV sites, more than 20 acres of primitive woodland camping, recreational amenities, and spaces for gatherings and special events.

We’re proud of the campground’s history and excited to continue building on it for generations to come.
Welcome to Isle of Wight Family Campground — where camping feels like family.
